Full Job Description

Dennis & Co. Auto Group is seeking an experienced, driven, and customer-focused Sales Manager to join our Manhattan Jeep dealership. This hybrid leadership role is primarily responsible for leading the sales department with occasional F&I Manager coverage (one to two days per week) as business needs require.

The ideal candidate is a proven automotive leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, excels at coaching sales teams, and possesses strong F&I knowledge with the ability to deliver a transparent, compliant, and exceptional customer experience.

Primary Responsibilities

Sales Management

Lead, motivate, and develop the sales team to consistently achieve dealership sales, gross profit, and customer satisfaction objectives.
Conduct daily sales meetings, one-on-one coaching, and performance management.
Manage the sales process from initial customer engagement through vehicle delivery.
Structure and approve vehicle deals while maximizing profitability and maintaining customer satisfaction.
Partner with General Sales Manager and General Manager to establish monthly sales objectives and execution strategies.
Monitor inventory levels, aging, and merchandising to maximize inventory turn and profitability.
Review CRM activity to ensure timely customer follow-up and lead management.
Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing high-performing sales professionals.
Maintain a strong showroom presence while assisting sales consultants in closing deals.
Ensure compliance with all manufacturer programs, dealership policies, and applicable state and federal regulations.

Finance & Insurance Responsibilities (1–2 Days Per Week)

Manage all aspects of the finance process during assigned coverage days.
Present financing and protection products in a consultative, customer-focused manner.
Secure financing through lender relationships while maximizing customer satisfaction and profitability.
Prepare and finalize finance documentation accurately and efficiently.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, lender, and dealership regulations.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of automotive retail management experience.
Previous experience as both a Sales Manager and Finance & Insurance Manager required.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing sales teams.
Strong knowledge of automotive sales operations, finance processes, and regulatory compliance.
Experience with CDK or similar dealership management system preferred.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
