Full Job Description

We are hiring a dedicated and experienced Personal Chef to work full-time for a private family in Naples, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for a chef with a passion for clean, health-conscious cuisine and exceptional service. Experience working in a private household is highly preferred.

The ideal candidate will be organized, adaptable, and capable of meeting individual dietary preferences. A successful chef in this role will be comfortable accepting feedback and demonstrate outstanding communication, time management, and customer service skills.

Please read the following job duties carefully and kindly apply with your cover letter, resume, references (email address and phone number) and letter(s) of recommendation:

Private Chef duties include but aren't limited to:

1. Inventory & Organization

Familiarize with all household food, beverage, and cleaning products
Organize pantry, refrigerator, freezer, coffee/tea station, and alcohol storage areas
Monitor and manage expiration dates
Specific designated area for all products. Example: Prepared foods for children, cleaned lettuces, raw foods, foods for next day, etc.
Establish par stock for perishables (based on time at locations). Example: transfer products if applicable on short stays or purchase smaller quantities.
Maintain par stock for non-perishables (cleaning, trash bags, foils and paper products)
Maintain kitchen fruit bowl (washed and free of stickers)

2. Purchasing

Purchase all food items and kitchen tools.
Purchase only organic and gluten-free items
Buy wine, beer, and spirits as needed
Track receipts and manage reimbursement system
Return reusable bags as necessary

3. Menus

Plan menus several days in advance based on family preferences
Prepare different meals for principals/guests as needed (e.g., Mr. steak, Mrs. seafood)
Prepare breakfast & lunch foods daily for Mr. (using special containers for transport) to be left night before, when he is working
Prepare, store and leave directions for meals when off duty
Maintain a household recipe book and menu history

4. Cleanliness - Keep kitchen presentable at all times

End of shift cleanup: All surfaces, including drawers and countertop, stove and grates, microwave, scrub sink and dry, floor swept in kitchen and under table.
Dishwasher turned on
Everything returned in proper location
Empty garbage and recycling (clean receptacles as needed)
Hang towels in laundry
Replace water jug in kitchen dispenser as needed
Full stock of water
Monthly deep clean of ovens

5. Miscellaneous

Travel with family to other properties as required
Assist with transitions between homes and suggest improvements to systems

Qualifications:

Culinary experience in private homes preferred
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to travel
Strong references requested
