Position Summary

The EHSQ Specialist will facilitate and lead EHSQ with a continuous improvement mindset and toolkit including assessing and setting EHSQ goals, metrics and targets; and develop a strong EHSQ and CI culture in partnership with site and functional leadership. This role reports to the General Manager within the Operations Department at EQI. Success in this position requires extensive collaboration across the organization, especially with EQI’s EHS personnel, Quality Specialists/Engineers, Product Engineers, and global Supply Chain personnel.

Essential Functions

· Manage development and implementation of EHSQ policies and procedures in compliance with all regulatory, company and customer requirements

· Assures conformance to specification of incoming raw materials and finished products

· Leads and/or participates in EHSQ improvement efforts, including:

o New employee orientation

o Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis

o Safety & Quality Toolbox Talks

o EHSQ Inspections

§ General EHS Audits

§ Parts compliance

§ Hazard Hunts

§ Customer Inspections

o Ergonomic Assessments

o Design and implement monthly EHSQ topics based on company/ industry focus areas

· Partners with site leadership to oversee and manage contractors, suppliers and vendors

· Establishes relationships with regulatory agencies through corporate guidance and partnership

· Identifies common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization’s operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards

· Facilitates risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHSQ hazards and aspects

o Works with leadership team to create targets and objectives based on key EHSQ risks

· Uses EHSQ & CI data processes to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, quality defects and Standard Operating Procedures and prepares & issues KPI data and trending reports

· Creates training matrices to ensure that all training is defined and tracked to completion

· Works with site leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis

· Supports Workers comp investigations in coordination with Human Resources

· Assess potential gaps in EQI’s Quality Management system and develop strategies to achieve and/or maintain compliance with customer requirements

· Manages customer quality issues in partnership with the Quality Engineers/Specialists

o Ensures timely responses to customer quality complaints or non-conformances

o Collects and analyze relevant data and effectively communicate the issue to EQI’s global supply chain

o Facilitate the 8D process in partnership with EQI’s global team utilizing the online portal to track and drive corrective actions to closure

· Monitors EQI’s quality performance at the customer

· Provides on-site customer support, as needed, with regards to quality issues

· Supports specification distribution, and training processes

· Provides “best practices” training and direction

· Oversees rework, repair, and inspection processes, as needed, to manage and minimize cost impacts

· Performs general support function for Quality and Safety team members

· Ability to travel (US and International) an estimated 20%, as needed.

Position Requirements

· Minimum three (3) years of EHS experience in a manufacturing/warehouse/distribution center environment

High school diploma or GED

· Certifications in EHS, Quality and Continuous Improvement

Bachelor's Degree in a science or engineering field is a plus
Understands OSHA/ISO regulations, technical documents & procedures
Experience with workers compensation
Demonstrated experience with safety programs
Proven track record of safety metric performance and improvement
Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis
Quality System experience (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF)
Fundamental understanding of lean manufacturing principles

· Ability to lead and support cross-functional teams

· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
