Full Job Description

The Environmental Reporting Specialist supports environmental compliance and field inspection programs through the review of environmental inspection reports, quality assurance of data collection activities, report preparation, and client deliverables. This position plays a critical role in ensuring environmental data is accurate, complete, and submitted in accordance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and project schedules.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining high standards for data quality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Inspection Support

Review environmental inspection and data collection reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
Verify field-collected environmental data and ensure proper documentation.
Coordinate with field inspectors and project team coordinators to resolve data discrepancies or missing information.
Track inspection schedules, deliverables, and reporting deadlines.
Maintain inspection records and project documentation.

Data Collection & Quality Assurance

Review and validate environmental data collected during field inspections.
Perform quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) checks on reports, databases, and supporting documentation.
Identify inconsistencies, trends, and data gaps and work with project staff to address findings.
Assist with data entry, management, and maintenance of environmental databases and tracking systems.

Report Preparation & Client Deliverables

Prepare, compile, format, and submit environmental reports to clients and regulatory agencies as required.
Ensure all client submittals meet contractual requirements, formatting standards, and established deadlines.
Support the development of project summaries, technical reports, and compliance documentation.
Maintain organized records of submitted reports and correspondence.

Client & Project Support

Serve as a point of contact for routine client communications related to report status and deliverables.
Collaborate with project managers, environmental professionals, and administrative staff to support successful project execution.
Assist with project tracking, document management, and workflow improvements.
Participate in team meetings and provide status updates on assigned tasks.

Required Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Biology, Geography, Engineering, Natural Resources, or a related field preferred.
1-3 years of experience supporting environmental projects, inspections, compliance programs, data management, or technical report preparation preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to review technical information and identify errors or inconsistencies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with environmental compliance programs, inspections, or regulatory reporting.
Familiarity with environmental databases, GIS applications, or data management software.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
Experience supporting consulting, utility, infrastructure, construction, or environmental services projects.
