Job Title: Production Control Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Control Coordinator to join our team. This role is critical to keeping our manufacturing operations running smoothly by ensuring production schedules are maintained and communication flows effectively across departments. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has a strong ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

As a key link between engineering, manufacturing, inventory, quality, and leadership, this position plays an essential role in driving on-time delivery and overall operational efficiency. Job Summary

The Production Control Coordinator supports production scheduling, order tracking, and cross-department communication to ensure customer orders move through manufacturing on schedule. This role monitors open orders, maintains accurate ERP/MRP and production planning data, communicates job priorities, tracks operational KPIs, and helps resolve production or material issues that could impact delivery commitments.

The position serves as a liaison between engineering, manufacturing, quality, inventory, shipping, vendors, and leadership to maintain efficient production flow, accurate reporting, and alignment with customer delivery expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Production Coordination

Communicate job priorities and schedule changes to relevant departments through the Daily Mission report.
Monitor production job progress and report delays, risks, or issues to supervisors.
Participate in daily production meetings to review priorities, schedules, and delivery commitments.

Order & Schedule Management

Maintain and update Open Order Reports (OOR).
Track order progress and provide order status updates during internal and customer meetings.
Provide regular updates on production progress and scheduling changes to internal teams.

ERP / Data Management

Maintain accurate job, routing, and material data in the ERP/MRP system.
Update job status as work progresses through production to ensure system data reflects actual shop floor activity. Daily walks on the CNC floor will be required.

Cross-Department Coordination

Facilitate communication between engineering, quality, manufacturing, inventory, and shipping to resolve workflow issues and maintain production flow.
Act as an internal liaison between departments and communicate with vendors when necessary to address material or scheduling concerns.

Inventory Coordination

Track inventory levels related to active production jobs and coordinate with the inventory team to prevent shortages or excess inventory.

Problem Solving

Identify production delays, workflow disruptions, or bottlenecks and assist in resolving issues that impact production schedules or on-time delivery.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operations and production performance.
Generate and compile reports on production status, open orders, inventory levels, and other operational metrics.

Inventory management:

· Track inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory team to prevent shortages or overstocking.

Skills & Qualifications:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with JobBoss 2
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Experience in a manufacturing environment for 3+ years
Desire to learn and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus
Ability to work well as part of a team.
