Job Summary

The Project Manager will support federal workforce development grants and contracts. The Project Manager will oversee all project tasks, manage key aspects of client relationships, and ensure delivery of high-quality, timely project outputs. This role requires strong project management capabilities, growing ownership of strategic planning, and problem-solving to ensure the successful execution of all technical, operational, and administrative grant activities. The ideal candidate is a proactive manager who excels in a dynamic, fast-paced membership association environment and has 2+ years of project management experience.  

The Project Manager is a professional who brings strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, along with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Director of Strategic Initiatives to provide overall leadership, management, and coordination of grant/contract activities.
Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, workflows, deliverables, and resource allocations.
Manage project schedules, staffing, risk mitigation, and performance tracking.
Ensure all deliverables meet quality, timeliness, and compliance standards.
Facilitate regular status meetings and reporting.
Monitor and assist with project tasks, expenses, and keep them within the allotted budget and deadlines. 
Maintain accurate project documentation. 
Respond to client, partners, and internal enquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in workforce development, economic development, reentry, apprenticeship, or related fields.
Demonstrated success leading complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
Understanding of the public workforce system, WIOA, employer engagement, and community-based partnerships.
Experience designing or scaling workforce programs for populations with barriers to employment.
Strong strategic thinking, facilitation, and project management skills.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complexity into clarity.
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and worker-centered design.
Proven ability to identify challenges, develop solutions, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder groups with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related project management tools.

Preferred

Experience working within or alongside workforce development boards.
Familiarity with apprenticeship standards, competency-based models, reentry programs, and sector strategies.
Experience managing federally funded initiatives or philanthropic partnerships.
Strong interest in working with data systems.
Experience with and/or willingness to learn video documentation.
