Full Job Description

Job Summary

Encore Labs Arizona is looking for an analytical chemist who has a strong background in analytical chemistry and worked in previous laboratory environments, preferably in the cannabis, food or environmental testing. Candidate will need to have a fundamental understanding of GC/MS, LC/MS, ICP-MS and/or HPLC instrumentation. Experience on at least two kinds of instrumentation preferred. The Analytical Chemist position is responsible for analyzing samples and reviewing data prior to release of COAs.

Encore Labs is a licensed and ISO 17205 accredited cannabis testing laboratory, offering full-service testing aimed at guaranteeing the quality and compliance standards of all cannabis products. At Encore, we strive to improve our scientific innovation in both laboratory efficiency and research & development.

General Duties

· Perform analysis of cannabis and cannabis products by GC/MS, LC/MS, ICP-MS and/or HPLC

· Review QC data, prepare technical reports, upload final results into LIMS

· Perform calibrations

· Troubleshoot instrument issues

· Perform maintenance on GC/MS, LC/MS, ICP-MS and/or HPLC (preferable experience on Shimadzu)

· Method development and method validation

Qualifications

· Must be at least 21 years of age

· A bachelor’s degree in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences from an accredited college or university, plus at least 2 years of full-time practical experience; or

· A bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university, plus at least 4 years of full-time practical experience

· Experience in a regulated environment (ISO 17025, GLP, or GMP)

· Experience working in the cannabis industry preferred

· Analytical instrumentation experience (3-5+ years) with Agilent, Waters, Shimadzu, Thermo-Scientific or Sciex (preferable experience on Shimadzu)

· Experience with LIMS

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Comfort and ability to work autonomously or with minimal guidance

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
