Director of Sales

As we continue to scale, we are seeking an experienced and driven Director of Sales to build, lead, and elevate our sales organization.

Position Overview

The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s sales strategy while leading a high-performing sales team focused on consistent revenue growth. This role requires a proven sales leader who can recruit top talent, coach and develop sales professionals, establish scalable processes, optimize performance through data, and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.

The ideal candidate has experience leading sales teams within financial services, fintech, lending, or other high-growth, performance-driven environments. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires both strategic vision and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute the company’s overall sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Sales Managers and Account Executives.
Collaborate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retain top-performing sales talent.
Build a high-performance sales culture centered around accountability, continuous improvement, and customer success.
Establish sales processes, playbooks, and best practices that can scale with company growth.
Monitor individual and team performance through KPIs, dashboards, and sales metrics.
Conduct regular pipeline reviews, forecasting, and sales strategy meetings.
Improve conversion rates throughout the sales funnel by identifying process improvements and coaching opportunities.
Partner with Marketing, Operations, Underwriting, and Executive Leadership to align business objectives and improve customer experience.
Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities.
Develop compensation programs, incentive structures, and recognition initiatives that drive performance.
Ensure CRM accuracy, reporting integrity, and disciplined pipeline management.
Present sales performance updates, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

QualificationsRequired

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience.
3+ years leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
Demonstrated success growing revenue and exceeding sales targets.
Experience building scalable sales processes and operational improvements.
Strong experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Preferred

Experience in Alternative Business Funding, commercial lending, financial services, fintech, banking, or related industries.
Experience building or scaling sales organizations in a startup or high-growth company.
Experience leading inside sales and outbound sales teams.
