Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as an Intermodal Customer Service representative, where you will be the vital link connecting clients, carriers, and internal teams to ensure seamless transportation and logistics operations. In this energetic role, you will manage intermodal freight shipments, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and utilize advanced transportation management systems to deliver exceptional service. Your proactive communication skills and attention to detail will drive efficiency, optimize supply chain processes, and foster positive relationships across the logistics network. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of intermodal transportation, supporting the movement of freight across modes with precision and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and carriers regarding intermodal freight shipments, providing timely updates and solutions.
Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and GPS technology to track shipments, optimize routing, and ensure on-time delivery.
Manage data entry related to shipping & receiving, freight documentation, and dispatching activities with accuracy and efficiency.
Communicate effectively via multi-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and professional communication skills.
Assist with shipment planning by analyzing supply chain data, coordinating with 3PL providers (third-party logistics), and supporting transportation planning efforts.
Support fleet management activities including dispatching, tracking freight movements, and maintaining records through systems like AS400 and Oracle TMS.
Handle shipping documentation, freight inquiries, and customer requests while maintaining a high standard of service quality.

Experience

Proven experience in transportation management or logistics roles involving freight coordination or customer service.
Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine is highly desirable.
Strong analysis skills for evaluating shipping data, optimizing routes, and troubleshooting issues in real-time.
Knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and supply chain principles to enhance shipment tracking and planning accuracy.
Experience with dispatching freight or managing shipping & receiving operations within a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills with proficiency in phone etiquette, data entry, and multi-line phone systems.
Ability to work efficiently with tools like AS400 or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems related to fleet management and logistics operations.
