Full Job Description

FastCare Urgent Care – Miami Beach - FULL-TIME

FastCare Urgent Care is seeking an experienced Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our busy urgent care team.

We are specifically seeking candidates with previous medical front-office experience and hands-on experience with health insurance verification.

The ideal candidate understands the fast-paced urgent care environment, knows how to verify insurance eligibility and benefits, accurately register patients, collect copayments, and communicate professionally with patients, providers, insurance companies, and Workers’ Compensation representatives.

Required Experience:

At least 2 years of recent medical front-desk/reception experience
Hands-on experience verifying commercial health insurance eligibility and benefits
Experience with patient registration, check-in, and check-out
Experience collecting copayments, deductibles, and other patient balances
Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)
Strong computer skills
Excellent telephone and customer-service skills
Experience handling medical paperwork, faxing, scanning, emailing, and document management
Ability to accurately enter patient demographics and insurance information
Professional, dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
Ability to work efficiently in a busy medical environment

Strongly Preferred:

Experience working in an urgent care, primary care, occupational medicine, orthopedic, or specialty medical practice
eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience
Knowledge of medical terminology
Bilingual English/Spanish

Responsibilities:

The Medical Front Desk Receptionist will be responsible for:

Greeting and assisting patients in a professional and welcoming manner
Registering patients accurately in the EMR
Verifying commercial insurance eligibility and benefits
Reviewing insurance information and identifying patient financial responsibility
Obtaining and documenting necessary patient and insurance information
Checking patients in and out
Collecting copayments, deductibles, and other applicable payments
Answering and directing incoming telephone calls
Assisting patients with questions regarding appointments, paperwork, and services
Preparing, scanning, faxing, and emailing medical documentation
Maintaining accurate electronic and paper records
Communicating effectively with providers, clinical staff, insurance companies, employers, and patients
Assisting with other front-office and administrative responsibilities as needed

Schedule Requirements:

FastCare is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Candidates must be willing to:

Work rotating weekends
Work rotating holidays
Work evening shifts when scheduled
Adjust their schedule based on clinic operational needs
Work at the Miami Beach location

Candidates who are unable to work evenings, weekends, and rotating holidays will not be considered.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of medical front-desk/reception experience
2+ years of customer-service experience in a professional setting
Demonstrated experience with health insurance verification
Strong computer skills
Availability for rotating evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to work in the Miami Beach location

Preferred Qualifications:

eClinicalWorks experience
Medical office medicine experience
Bilingual English/Spanish

Compensation:

Starting at $17.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Compensation may be higher based on relevant medical front-office experience, insurance verification experience, Workers’ Compensation knowledge, and EMR experience.
