ReEntry Case Manager
Michigan Works! Region 7B (Saginaw, MI)
Full-Time Preferred | Part-Time Considered
$18.00–$19.00 per hour + Full Benefits

Michigan Works! Region 7B is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dependable Reentry Case Manager to join our Reentry Success team, serving primarily in Saginaw County and surrounding areas as needed.

This role supports individuals returning to the community after incarceration by helping them overcome barriers to employment, housing, recovery, and long-term stability. Through person-centered case management and strong community partnerships, you will play an important role in helping clients build successful and productive lives.

This position works closely with parole agents, employers, landlords, treatment providers, mental health professionals, recovery coaches, and other community partners to provide a collaborative, wrap-around support system.

Key Responsibilities

Case Management & Client Support

Provide one-on-one support and case management for clients transitioning back into the community.
Develop individualized reentry plans focused on employment, housing, recovery, and personal stability.
Monitor progress, provide encouragement, and offer crisis intervention when needed.
Maintain accurate records, monthly reports, and client documentation.

Employment & Career Development

Help clients identify career goals, strengths, and employment opportunities.
Assist with resumes, job searches, interview preparation, and workforce training opportunities.
Support clients in obtaining and maintaining stable employment.

Housing Support

Assist clients in securing stable and safe housing.
Conduct housing inspections and coordinate with landlords and housing agencies.

Community Collaboration

Work closely with parole agents, employers, landlords, treatment providers, and community agencies.
Connect clients to mental health, recovery, education, and community support services.

Client Advocacy & Accountability

Help clients remain compliant with parole requirements and reduce barriers that may increase recidivism.
Support clients in building healthy routines, improving financial stability, and strengthening community connections.

Qualifications

Required:

High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Professionalism, empathy, and the ability to build trust with diverse populations

Preferred:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field
Experience in case management, social services, corrections, behavioral health, or reentry services
Knowledge of criminal justice systems, community resources, and barriers faced by justice-involved individuals
Training in Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, Recovery Coaching, Mental Health First Aid, or related areas

Candidates with Lived Experience

Candidates with lived experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants with prior justice involvement may be considered if they are at least one year removed from parole or probation, have no active warrants or pending criminal cases, and can demonstrate stability and readiness for the position.

Applicants in recovery should demonstrate long-term stability and readiness to support others in similar journeys.

Work Environment

Primarily Monday–Friday during standard business hours
No routine nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities
Some fieldwork required, including home visits, parole office visits, and community meetings
Weekly or biweekly travel within assigned service areas using a personal vehicle
Non-remote position based in Saginaw Township
