Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food safety and handling, with experience in menu planning and preparation. Must have 2/3 years of kitchen experience. Food handlers certification or serve safe preferred. This role is essential in delivering great quality dishes in a timely manner. If you have a love for cooking and a commitment to excellence, we would love to hear from you. The Windsock has been in business for 49 years. We are like family and most of the employees have been here for 10 years plus. Small kitchen makes this a one man show In most shifts Saturday, Sundays and events require 2 people. We are a pub type atmosphere with tasty food which keeps our customers coming back for more.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed in the kitchen.
Collaborate with the dietary department to create menus that cater to specific dietary needs.
Assist in menu planning, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food storage.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
Work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards in food presentation.
Provide support and guidance to other kitchen staff as necessary.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Cook or similar role in a culinary setting, preferably within dining environments.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Ability to plan menus that accommodate various dietary restrictions and preferences.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
A passion for culinary arts and a desire to help create memorable dining experiences.
