HR Assistant for a Construction Landscaping Company (46-56k)

Job title: HR Assistant for a Construction Landscaping Company – South San Francisco, CA

About us:

Curtis Edward Dennison, Landscape, Inc. specializes in building and maintaining fine residential gardens throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. We offer our clientele a unique service based upon quality, horticultural expertise, and customer service.

Job Summary:

We have an immediate opening for a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Assistant. This is a great opportunity to assist our team with diverse projects and provide general administrative support.

This is a long-term opportunity with potential to grow with us as we flourish in a third decade of fine gardening.

General Duties:

Maintains accurate and confidential HR files, records, and documentation.
Provides general clerical and administrative support to the HR department.
Answers common questions about policies, benefits, and hiring. Refers complex issues to senior HR staff.
Act as liaison with external benefits providers and vendors.
Assists with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates.
Partners with managers to understand staffing needs.
Conducts background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
Supports or conducts new hire oriendtation and employee recognition programs.
Helps administer HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, performance management, training, and employee relations.
Assists with disciplinary matters, investigations, and workplace safety initiatives.
May assist with payroll processing, fixing errors, answering questions, and distribution checks.
Helps plan and execute HR-related events such as open enrollment, staff meetings, recognition events, and holiday parties.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Associate’s degree in a related field required.
At least two years related experience preferred.
Bilingual (English, Spanish) required.
Must be able to commute to South San Francisco (94080) or plan to relocate prior to starting (Required).
On-site position, this is not a remote role.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently with HR systems including ADP Workforce Now, Employee Navigator, TalentLMS, and Quickbooks Time.

Physical Demands:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. at times.

Compensation:

Competitive salary: $46,000–$56,000 DOE
Full-time, on-site position.
Employer-paid employee medical, dental, and vision insurance after 60 days
