Venue & Event Manager – South Orange County

Compensation: $70,304–$75,000 annually + commission opportunities
Location: South Orange County, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site | Evenings & Weekends Required

A well-established hospitality and events organization is seeking an experienced Venue & Event Manager to oversee the sales, client experience, and day-to-day operations of a distinctive event venue in South Orange County.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role for someone who enjoys the intersection of hospitality, sales, events, and venue operations. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, relationship-driven, and equally comfortable developing new business, guiding clients through the planning process, and being present on-site to ensure events are executed successfully.

The Opportunity

As Venue & Event Manager, you will take ownership of the overall client and event experience - from the initial inquiry and venue tour through contracting, planning, event execution, and follow-up.

A significant part of the role is focused on growing the business. You will cultivate relationships with prospective clients, planners, vendors, community partners, and other industry professionals while helping maximize venue bookings, revenue, and long-term market presence.

You will also serve as a key operational leader for the property, helping ensure the venue is maintained, event-ready, and consistently delivering a high level of hospitality.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Drive venue sales and contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and referral partners.
Conduct venue tours, consultations, and sales presentations.
Develop proposals, negotiate opportunities, and guide clients through the booking process.
Manage client relationships throughout the full event lifecycle.
Coordinate event details, layouts, vendors, tastings, and other planning touchpoints.
Provide on-site leadership and support during events.
Manage the venue calendar and help maximize booking opportunities and capacity.
Oversee day-to-day venue needs, including facility readiness, maintenance coordination, cleaning, and vendor services.
Develop strong relationships with industry and community partners.
Resolve client concerns with professionalism and a hospitality-first approach.
Maintain accurate contracts, event documentation, and client records.
Lead, coach, and provide direction to assigned support team members and event staff.
Collaborate closely with sales, culinary, operations, and other internal teams to deliver successful events.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who brings a strong combination of sales ability, hospitality instincts, operational ownership, and event experience.

The strongest candidates will have:

Approximately 5–7 years of hospitality, catering, venue, or event experience.
Demonstrated success in a sales-focused environment and experience working toward revenue goals.
Experience managing events from initial sale through execution.
Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and client service skills.
Experience with CRM, catering, event management, or similar business systems.
Strong organizational and project-management skills.
The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Experience coaching, supervising, or developing team members.
An understanding of revenue forecasting, profitability, and business performance.
A professional presence and comfort representing a venue within the local events and hospitality community.
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel locally as needed.

A degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required for candidates with strong relevant experience.

Schedule & Work Environment

Hospitality doesn't always operate on a traditional Monday–Friday schedule. This position requires flexibility based on the venue's event calendar, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours.

The role is primarily on-site at an event venue located in South Orange County.

Compensation

Annual Pay Range: $70,304–$75,000

This position also offers the opportunity to earn commissions based on applicable sales performance and the organization's commission structure.
