Full Job Description

Overview

The Day Service Assistant Program Manager is responsible for the day services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their emphasis is on assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), leading engaging activities, providing or coordinating transportation, and implementing individual support plans to promote independence and personal dignity. The DSA APM will be responsible for performing administrative tasks and assist with resident care while providing training and oversight to direct support professionals in the DSA program. The number of hours for administrative tasks and floor work will vary and are scheduled to meet the needs of the program. This is a full-time, hourly position.

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in Day Service Activities (not group home it has to be day program experience) or Supported Employment with clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

If you have your certifications for Supported Employment the pay would be negotiable depending on experience.

1. Must be at least 21 years of age (to qualify as a company driver).

2. Must be able to develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and other providers of services to TrueNorth residents and staff.

3. Must be good with written and verbal communication.

4. Must be accessible by phone or message device.

5. Must be able to access reliable transportation to fulfill job responsibilities.

6. Must be able to qualify as a driver for company owned vehicles.

7. Ability to organize resources, establish priorities and meet deadlines.

8. Possess exceptional organization skills, attention to detail and time management

9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.

10. Proactively anticipate challenges and initiate problem solving, seeks out and suggests solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

ADLs: Assistance with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, medication administration, and other personal care needs.
Skill Development: Teaching daily living skills and self-care
Community Integration: Coordinating transportation for individuals to and from activities as well as providing supplemental support during community outings and activities. Coordinating activities with local businesses when necessary.
Support & Emotional Care: Providing emotional support and assisting individuals in making choices and increasing self-esteem.
Activity Planning: Leading assigned groups in scheduled activities and planning engaging events.
Instruction: Providing basic training on social, adaptive, and interpersonal skills as outlined in the Individual Support Plan (ISP).
Will assist in managing and training staff for DSA.
Program Development: Organizing and leading a variety of activities such as social events, arts and crafts, and physical exercise.
Compliance & Communication: Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing administrative tasks, and communicating with families in alignment with skill development required by Oregon Administrative Rules for this service element.
Person-Centered Care: Providing high-quality, individualized services according to each person's unique support plan.
Behavior Support: Implementing behavior management plans to support individuals' progress and well-being.
Community Engagement: Fostering independence and community inclusion by supporting participation in social, recreational, and vocational activities.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate and timely records of client progress and interactions.
Meet regularly with the Day Services Coordinator while maintaining effective and timely communication with them.
15. Inform the Day Services Coordinator of resident/staff actions or inactions that may have legal implications.
Attend and participate in monthly managers meetings.
Assist in supporting the ISP work between residential and day/employment services when applicable
18. Provide support to the organization by handling a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks. This could include preparing documents, compliance paperwork, monthly or quarterly or annual reports, handling communication through phone, email or fax. Checking DSA documentation for accuracy prior to being billed for it in eXPRS.
19. Recommend policy and procedure or training material updates.
Maintain confidentiality of all residents' records per the OARs and TrueNorth Policies and Procedures. Respect confidentiality of all employees as well.
Represent TrueNorth to other staff, residents, their families and friends, the community and other agencies in a professional and positive manner.
Foster a sense of teamwork within the organization.
Promote TrueNorth’s values, mission and goals within the context of all responsibilities.
24. Attend and participate in committee meetings as requested.
Perform other appropriate tasks as assigned.
