Full Job Description

Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing incoming payments, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records related to receivables. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting and finance, with experience using various accounting software and systems. Your contributions will help maintain healthy cash flow and support the overall financial health of the organization.

Duties

Process and record customer payments accurately using billing software, QuickBooks, Sage, or other financial systems.
Perform account reconciliations to ensure all receivables are correctly reflected in the accounting system.
Manage collections accounts by following up on overdue invoices and communicating with clients professionally via phone or email.
Prepare and analyze spreadsheets for Excel data analysis and account analysis to identify discrepancies or trends.
Assist with journal entries related to accounts receivable transactions, including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting procedures.
Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve billing issues and respond to client inquiries promptly.
Support accounts payable processes as needed, ensuring smooth coordination between receivables and payables functions.

Experience

Previous experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within public accounting or corporate accounting environments.
Familiarity with accounting concepts such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance.
Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
Strong data entry skills with proficiency in Excel formulas, spreadsheets, and 10 key typing accuracy.
Knowledge of billing software, financial software, and Excel data analysis techniques is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration, along with good phone etiquette.
Ability to perform account analysis, account reconciliation, and credit analysis efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
