Position Description - Thrive Liaison

Job Title: Thrive Liaison, Ridgeview Elementary School (Belgrade School District)
Supervisor: Program Manager
Team: Thrive Liaison Program
Status: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Classification: Non-Exempt
Contracted Days: August 24, 2026 - June 4, 2027 (184 days)

Thrive is a nonprofit organization in Bozeman, Montana, that believes that when families are strong, children succeed, and communities thrive. Our mission is to ensure that all children have every opportunity to grow, succeed, and become valuable members of our community through programs that engage parents and empower children. Thrive has earned a commendable reputation within our community over the past 40 years, consistently garnering the trust and support of donors, community members, and stakeholders for our impactful programs.

Position Summary:

Thrive Liaisons are professionals who work within elementary schools during the academic year to strengthen the connection between families and the school community. These liaisons focus on promoting parental involvement and supporting children's academic and social development. They manage community volunteers for Thrive’s CAP program, ensuring students receive individualized mentoring to boost their academic and social competencies. The position can be fast-paced, with numerous tasks and demands competing for attention and little supervision.

We are a nonprofit that cares deeply about the wellbeing and retention of our staff. All aspects of this work align with Thrive’s mission, vision, and values. Thrive supports its staff through a flexible workplace environment and offers a wellness program.

Position Responsibilities:

Assist parents in identifying and accessing community services/resources that relate to the family’s needs
Identify and build upon a family’s strengths and help them to implement positive parenting practices
Collaborate with school partners to connect parents to their child’s school, reduce barriers, and help them feel included in their child’s education
Give direct support to Multilingual families through Google Translate, Talking Points, or Acculing if not fluent in Spanish
Provide consistent and effective management, support, and supervision to CAP mentors at Belgrade Middle School (3-5 hours per week) and Ridgeview Elementary School
Participate in student referral screening and facilitate student success meetings
Build cross-team cohesiveness and increase communication effectiveness
Collect data, conduct surveys, and track attendance, participation, and program specifics to evaluate the effectiveness of programs

Education, Training, Experience & Certification Requirements:

Four-year degree in social work, education, psychology, family sciences, or related field
3+ years of prior experience working in schools and/or with families
Additional working knowledge of local community resources is preferred
Spanish language skills are a plus

Salary & Benefits:

This position pays $40,215, commensurate with experience. It also includes:
