Director of Operations Job Description

This job description outlines the Director of Operations objective, primary responsibilities, and/or requirements and qualifications of a respected and established non-medical, home care provider.

Objective: The Director of Operations leads business growth by managing all internal operations: including HR and staff. Collaborates with Owner on HR issues, customer service, client, and caregiver management, and directs internal office staff. Operates business in a manner that adheres to all SH Franchising System standards.

Reports to: Owner

Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

Responsible for the growth of revenue, quality of service, and all operational aspects of the business including caregiver recruitment, retention, and all HR management
Leads and motivates the team to specified goals.
Liaison between owner and internal staff members, and responsible for ensuring staff communications are accurate and complete.
Understands all job descriptions and ensures responsibilities are performed following expectations set by the owner.
Manages, coaches, and motivates all office personnel to set and achieve weekly goals.
Oversees and manages Care Team functions such as onboarding, training, scheduling, and caregiver retention events.
Take appropriate disciplinary action as necessary.
Partners with the franchisee to make personnel decisions, such as salary changes and terminations.
Analyze data each department presents at weekly meetings, understanding root causes to develop appropriate action plans.
Oversees and is responsible for payroll, gross sales, reporting, activity reports, and other reports as assigned by the owner.
Report Workers’ Compensation claims and manage the return-to-work process.
Manages caregiver and client risk with input and feedback from the Nursing/Client Care Coordination teams.
Tracks, manages, and shares service inquiry process, including overall and individual conversion rates, providing additional coaching or training as needed.
Develop and manage offices’ after-hour on-call process.
Makes sure that bi-weekly invoicing and payroll data are accurate and processed on time.
Works with the owner to determine appropriate revenue gross profit margin, and other financial goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Qualifications:

Minimum three years’ management experience required.
Minimum three years’ experience in the home care industry preferred.
Must have the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team of individuals to work together in order to meet goals.
Working knowledge of CAHC accreditation guidelines preferred.
Exceptional and verifiable customer service skills and experience.
Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
Proactive problem prevention and issue resolution leadership ability.
Bachelor’s Degree and five years of related work experience strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook required. Ability to learn other software programs quickly.
Strong verbal communication skills, especially using the telephone.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
