Full Job Description

BrightStar Care is a locally owned, independently female-owned company dedicated to delivering exceptional home health services. As we continue to grow rapidly across all areas of home health, we are seeking compassionate and motivated Registered Nurses (RNs) and LVNs to join our expanding team. Pay is $65 hourly for RNs and $45 hourly for LVNs.

BrightStar Care is seeking 3–4 compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) and LVN's to join a specialized pediatric home care team caring for a 9-month-old infant who's scheduled to discharged home from Stanford Hospital on September 8th.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a family's life while gaining valuable pediatric Astral 150 ventilator and tracheostomy care experience.

Position Details

Pay: $65/hour for RNs, $45 hourly for LVNs
Schedule: 8 and 12 hour shifts. Varies by days available. 6a to 2pm, 2p to 10pm, 10pm to 6a, 6a to 6p and 6p to 6a
Setting: One-on-one care in the infant's home in San Luis Obispo
Training: Hands-on, paid training in the home upon the babies arrival

Responsibilities:

Continuous airway monitoring of an infant on an Astral 150 ventilator
Vital signs and cardiopulmonary monitoring
Suctioning tracheostomy secretions
General tracheostomy care
Management of enteral feedings via G-tube
Providing skilled, compassionate nursing care in a home environment
Case will be ongoing as the baby requires a ventilator for up to two-years

Registered Nurse/RN Job Duties include:

Perform care as defined by client’s individual Plan of Care and within scope of state’s nurse practice act
Monitor patient’s condition and notify appropriate personnel of any changes
Provide those services requiring substantial and specialized nursing skill
Assures proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state and federal laws
Counsels the client and family in meeting nursing and related needs
Work under and supported by our Director of Nursing

Position Requirements

Registered Nurse / RN Job Requirements include:

Current and unrestricted RN or LVN license in California
1 to 2 years’ experience on your license
Proof of eligibility to work in the US
Reliable car/auto insurance
Clean background and criminal record
Current CPR/BLS/PALS You can work on your PALS during your hiring process.
TB/Chest X-ray on record

Experienced preferred: Pediatric, Vent/Trach, G-Tube feeding, NICU experience preferred
