Production, Inventory, Purchasing & Receiving Controller (Full-Time)

Location: Concord, NC
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Flexible)

About Us

QCTS is a growing manufacturing company seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production, Inventory, Purchasing & Receiving Controller to support our operations team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating production activities, managing purchasing processes, and ensuring materials are available to support customer delivery requirements.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in manufacturing operations, inventory management, purchasing, and production coordination.

Position Summary

The Production, Inventory, Purchasing & Receiving Controller is responsible for managing the flow of materials, production documentation, inventory accuracy, purchasing activities, and receiving processes. This role serves as a key connection between suppliers, purchasing, production, inventory control, quality, and management teams to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Inventory Control

Create and maintain production travelers, route cards, and manufacturing documentation.
Generate, release, and track work orders and manufacturing builds.
Maintain accurate inventory records through ERP system transactions and adjustments.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with material planning to support production needs.
Coordinate and monitor production schedules to support on-time delivery.
Track work order status and communicate priorities with production personnel.
Perform inventory cycle counts and investigate discrepancies.
Ensure production records are completed accurately and maintained according to company procedures.

Purchasing & Supplier Coordination

Create and manage purchase orders for materials, components, and supplies.
Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and order status.
Monitor supplier deliveries and follow up on open purchase orders.
Assist with sourcing materials and resolving purchasing issues.
Maintain purchasing records and documentation.
Work closely with production and management to ensure materials are available when needed.

Receiving & Material Management

Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, and inspect documentation.
Process receiving transactions in the ERP system.
Coordinate incoming shipments and ensure materials are properly identified and stored.
Address receiving discrepancies, shortages, or damaged materials.
Maintain organized inventory locations and accurate material records.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

Maintain ISO 9001 quality documents, controlled forms, and production records.
Ensure purchasing and receiving documentation meets quality requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and process documentation.
Collaborate with purchasing, production, quality, and management teams to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

Previous experience in manufacturing, inventory control, purchasing, receiving, production planning, or operations coordination.
Experience with ERP systems and inventory management software.
Experience creating purchase orders, managing suppliers, and receiving materials preferred.
Familiarity with work orders, bills of materials (BOMs), travelers, and routing documents.
Understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
