Job Title: IT Support Technician

The Opportunity

Local businesses rely on seamless technology to keep their doors open and their teams working. As these businesses grow, basic computer fixes are no longer enough—they need reliable professionals to manage their networks, secure their accounts, and keep their daily operations running smoothly. Are you the skilled problem-solver who can confidently manage these technical needs? We are looking for an experienced IT Support Technician to resolve technical issues, set up new equipment, and provide an excellent, customer-focused experience for our clients.

A Day in the Life

As an IT Support Technician, our clients will rely on you to keep their technology running. You will work independently—but with the backing of a collaborative technical team—to solve a wide range of technical issues, from troubleshooting Line of Business (LOB) software to setting up secure business networks. Your day will be a mix of providing fast remote support from our office and traveling to client sites in to install hardware, install firewalls, or set up new workstations. You know how to research solutions on your own, document your fixes clearly, and guide clients through technical steps using everyday language.

What You Will Do

Resolve Technical Issues: Own client issues from start to finish. You will independently troubleshoot and fix computer, software, and internet problems, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
Manage Networks and Systems: Set up and configure network equipment (like firewalls and wireless access points) and manage user accounts, emails, and security settings within Microsoft 365.
Support Client Projects: Travel to local businesses to physically install computers, printers, and network gear for office moves or upgrades.
Communicate Clearly: Listen to clients, understand the impact of their problem, and explain your solutions clearly without using confusing technical term
Document Your Work: Write clear, accurate notes on the problems you solve so the rest of the team can learn from your solutions.

What You Need:

Experience

2 to 3 years of hands-on experience providing IT support for hardware, software, and business networks.

Technical Skills

A strong understanding of Windows computers, managing user accounts, and configuring business internet setups (firewalls and secure connections).

Problem Solving

The ability to look at a situation, figure out the root cause on your own, and choose the most logical way to fix it.

People Skills

You are patient, professional, and excellent at managing multiple tasks while keeping customers informed of your progress.

Logistics

A clean background check, a clean driving record, reliable transportation, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Bonus Skills (Nice to have, but not required)

IT Certifications (such as A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certificates).
Previous experience at a Managed IT Services provider, with a proven ability to juggle multiple client requests smoothly.
Familiarity with IT ticketing systems or remote monitoring tools (like ConnectWise or Datto).
Experience helping businesses use internet-based phone systems (VoIP).
