Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join our finance team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate tax reporting, compliance with financial regulations, and supporting various tax-related projects. Your expertise will help us navigate complex tax laws, optimize financial strategies, and maintain transparency with clients and regulatory bodies. Responsibilities

Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and industry regulations
Assist in the development of financial models to support tax planning and strategic decision-making
Conduct thorough analysis of financial data using spreadsheets and financial software to identify discrepancies or opportunities for optimization
Support mergers and acquisitions by performing due diligence, valuation analysis, and integration planning related to tax implications
Collaborate with clients to gather documentation, explain complex tax issues clearly, and provide proactive advice on tax strategies
Ensure adherence to financial regulatory compliance standards through detailed audits and reviews of internal processes
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, changes in tax laws, and financial regulations affecting client portfolios

Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and modeling
Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax accounting practices, and finance fundamentals
Experience with financial software systems used for tax preparation and reporting
Knowledge of GAAP standards and industry-specific financial regulations
Excellent analysis skills to interpret complex financial data accurately
Project management capabilities to handle multiple deadlines efficiently
Effective client communication skills to explain technical information clearly and professionally
Background in auditing, financial compliance, or related fields is highly desirable
Industry knowledge of financial regulations impacting taxation and corporate finance
