Full Job Description

180 Turning Lives Around, LLC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive services to individuals and families affected by domestic and sexual violence. Our mission is to empower survivors, promote safety, and create lasting social change through advocacy, education, and support services.

Job Overview
The creative arts therapist is responsible for providing counseling and supportive services to children and families affected by domestic and sexual violence. This is part-time position with evening hours, and is scheduled for 10 hours per week for a one-year term.

Responsibilities

Plan and conduct group and individual counseling sessions for children and families.
Develop group and individual treatment plans and objectives.
Plan and implement counseling interventions such as crisis intervention, developmentally specific interventions and preventative actions.
Maintain accurate and complete records for all clients including progress notes and referral information.
Provide individual in-person/phone consultation with parents/guardians.
Conduct in-person intakes with children and parents.
Attend and participate in supervision and DV training as required.
Collaborate with staff members on implementation of services.
Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with organization policies and ethical standards, ensuring privacy in communications, documentation and interactions.

Requirements

Master’s degree in professional counseling or related field.
LPC/LAC/LCSW or comparable license.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in counseling with children and families.
Registration/board certification by the appropriate association for the creative arts specialization.
Trauma informed and/or trauma intervention trained (TFCBT/EMDR).
Driver’s license in good standing.
Evening availablity (4-9p) is required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Ability to work in a confidential office environment; work requires maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and emotional resilience.
Perform essential physical tasks that include standing, walking, bending, and the ability to frequently move throughout the work area as needed.
Perform tasks on a computer with the ability to perform sedentary work for extended periods.
This role requires extended periods of concentration, managing emotionally intense conversations, and responding to clients in real time.
Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.

Pay: $50.00 per hour

Master's (Required)

Experience:
