About Döner Haus
We're building the McDonald's of German döner kebab. Three corporate locations in NYC, an active franchise pipeline, and a focused menu designed to run fast, clean, and profitably. We do one thing and do it right.

About the Role
We're hiring an Assistant General Manager to support our COO across all three NYC corporate stores (East Village, Hell's Kitchen, and Astoria). You'll move between locations, work the line during service, and support staff on the ground.

This is a hybrid role: a hands-on operator when the rush hits, and a proactive systems thinker when it doesn't. The right person genuinely likes the rhythm of a busy QSR kitchen, takes ownership without being asked, and wants to grow with a brand that's actively expanding.

Must-Haves (Non-Negotiable)

Fluent in Spanish and English
Physical NYC DOH Food Protection Certificate
Open availability — early mornings or late evenings as needed
Available to work weekends (8+ hours some days), holidays, and nights
Flexible with schedule and last-minute changes
Easy commute to all three NYC venues (East Village, Hell's Kitchen, Astoria)
5+ years of management experience in QSR or fast casual (shift lead, AGM, or similar)
Hands-on culinary experience — comfortable working hot, fast-paced equipment (gyro machines, fryers), not just supervising
Comfortable using Toast POS
Comfortable using Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, and basic admin tools
Reliable transportation to travel between our three NYC locations

Day-to-day operations:

Supervising consistent opening and closing procedures across locations
Supervising ingredient prep, cooking menu items, and working the line during service
Upholding food safety, sanitation, and DOH compliance — every shift, no exceptions
Managing daily operations such as monitoring staff and shift coverage, taking inventory, following up on orders, and schedule maintenance

Across the operation:

Supporting the COO with day-to-day operations across all three corporate stores
Monitoring service, staffing, and guest experience in real time and resolving issues on the spot
Recruiting, onboarding, training, and scheduling crew
Coaching staff and supporting performance conversations
Managing inventory through our automated system, verifying deliveries, and coordinating supply movement between locations and storage
Coordinating with contractors for repairs, maintenance, and facility needs
Confidently operating Toast POS and troubleshooting when needed
Helping update SOPs, training materials, and operational playbooks
Ensuring consistent practices across all 3 locations

Additional Qualities We're Looking For

Strong communicator: clear with the team, warm with guests, direct with vendors
Calm under pressure and able to prioritize effectively
Able to multitask and keep track of different tasks across more than one venue

Physical Requirements

Standing, walking, and bending throughout the shift
Lifting up to 60 lbs occasionally, 10 lbs frequently
Comfortable working in varied temperatures (hot line, walk-in cooler)

$70,000–$75,000 base salary depending on experience
