Assistant Nurse Manager

Our team of experts provide patients integrated and personalized care plans coordinated by world-renowned clinical cardiologists, experts in imaging and advanced diagnostic testing, cardiac anesthesiologists with expertise in perioperative transesophageal echocardiography, and specialized intensive care physicians. This multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach, in conjunction with continual enhancement of surgical technology and facilities, has led to a global reputation for cardiac surgical excellence. In addition, Mount Sinai is an international hub for complex heart valve procedures and reoperations due to its surgical rigor and exhaustive risk assessment.

Assistant Nurse Managers assist with providing and integrating clinical leadership and management of a designated unit of patient care, consistent with the philosophy and goals of the institution, patient care service department, and clinical service; develops and sustains an environment of excellence in patient/family service, growth and development of staff, and application of evidence-based practice. The scope of practice encompasses the nursing process which is are cyclic, overlapping and interrelated through case finding, health teaching, health counseling and restoration of life and well-being.

We require:

Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing (Baccalaureate Degree in nursing preferred)
Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) Licensure/Registration
Current BLS for assigned areas of practice
Must complete in-house orientation program
Must complete annual mandatory in-service education (Hospital/Nursing)
Speaks, reads and writes English
Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
Clinical experience/skills relevant to the assigned area of practice
Computer proficiency
