Full Job Description

Job Title: Quality Manager

We are seeking a Quality Manager to lead and maintain the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) across both plastics and metals manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO and FDA standards while driving continuous improvement in processes, products, and overall quality performance.

This position requires a hands-on leader who can work cross-functionally with engineering, production, suppliers, and customers to support quality initiatives and resolve issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820
Serve as Management Representative for the QMS
Manage and develop the Quality team, including performance management and training
Plan, conduct, and oversee internal, customer, and third-party audits
Ensure effective processes for nonconforming product, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions
Partner with engineering and production to support quality requirements across plastics and metals manufacturing processes
Work directly with customers to address quality concerns, complaints, and technical inquiries
Develop and maintain quality documentation, including the Quality Manual and procedures
Analyze quality data and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma projects
Support supplier quality management, including evaluation and performance monitoring
Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, customers, and registrars

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of QMS requirements (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA regulations)
Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably including plastics and/or metals
Ability to lead internal audit programs and perform Lead Auditor responsibilities
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Experience with process validation, inspection methods, and quality control systems
Effective communication and technical writing skills
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence teams

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
5–7 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or quality
Minimum 3 years of leadership experience
Experience with internal and external audits

Preferred Qualifications

ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA, or similar)
Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher)
Lean Manufacturing experience
Experience working with both plastics and metals processes
ERP system experience

Work Environment

Combination of office, manufacturing floor, and quality lab environments
Exposure to both plastics and metals production areas, including cleanroom (if applicable)

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally

Schedule & Travel

Full-time, Monday–Friday
Additional hours as needed to support business needs
Up to 20% travel
