Overview
Join our dynamic team as a School Bus Driver and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students. In this energetic role, you will operate school buses and other transit vehicles with precision and care, creating a positive experience for young passengers while maintaining the highest safety standards. Your dedication will help foster a safe and welcoming environment for students on their daily journeys to and from school.

Responsibilities

Safely operate school buses, motor coaches, shuttle buses, and paratransit vehicles to transport students along designated routes
Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, mechanical functionality, and cleanliness before each trip
Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure passenger safety at all times
Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and dispatchers to coordinate pickups and drop-offs
Maintain a professional demeanor, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience for all passengers
Respond promptly to any roadside issues or emergencies by following established procedures and communicating with relevant authorities
Keep accurate logs of routes, mileage, maintenance needs, and incident reports as required

Requirements

Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for school bus operation (e.g., passenger endorsement)
Proven experience in bus driving, shuttle driving, or delivery driver roles with a focus on safety and customer service
Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues
Knowledge of paratransit operations or motor coach driving is a plus
Strong communication skills in English to interact clearly with students, parents, and team members
Ability to handle routine maintenance tasks or identify when professional repairs are needed
Prior experience in limousine or <PERSON> driver roles is advantageous but not required
Excellent driving record with no recent violations or accidents; familiarity with bus driving regulations and safety standards
