Commercial Masonry Superintendent
North Carolina & South Carolina | Full-Time | Commercial
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Masonry Superintendent to oversee field operations and support the successful execution of commercial and multifamily construction projects throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading masonry contractor with a strong backlog of work and a reputation for delivering high-quality masonry on complex projects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with extensive commercial masonry experience who can supervise multiple projects and foremen, coordinate field operations, and keep work progressing safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
What You’ll Do
· Oversee masonry operations across several commercial projects.
· Supervise, support, and mentor multiple foremen and field crews.
· Coordinate manpower, schedules, equipment, materials, jobsite access, and deliveries between projects.
· Conduct daily and weekly planning to meet production goals and project deadlines.
· Monitor labor productivity, installed quantities, and progress against project schedules.
· Ensure brick, concrete masonry unit, structural block, veneer, and stonework meet plans, specifications, and quality standards.
· Maintain quality control throughout all phases of masonry construction.
· Enforce company safety policies and applicable OSHA requirements.
· Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, specifications, and electronic construction drawings.
· Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, other trades, vendors, and company leadership.
· Identify scheduling conflicts, scope changes, and field issues before they affect project completion.
· Communicate potential change-order work to project management.
· Complete and review daily reports, time records, progress documentation, safety paperwork, and incident reports.
· Inspect completed work and oversee punch-list completion.
· Support employee performance, accountability, training, and development.
· Travel regularly between assigned job sites throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.
What We’re Looking For
· Minimum of three years of commercial masonry experience.
· At least two years of experience in a foreman, supervisor, or superintendent-level role.
· Strong experience with commercial brick, concrete masonry unit, brick veneer, structural block, and related masonry systems.
· Experience supervising several projects, multiple foremen, and field crews.
· Ability to coordinate manpower, production, equipment, materials, and schedules across multiple locations.
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, layouts, and project documents.
· Proven ability to manage production and jobsite operations while maintaining quality and safety standards.
· Demonstrated progression and reliability in commercial masonry or construction leadership roles.
· Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and make timely field decisions.
· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record due to regular travel between job sites.
· Comfort using email, mobile applications, electronic plans, daily reporting systems, timekeeping systems, and basic project-management technology.
· OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred but not required.
Schedule & Travel
· Typical schedule is Monday through Friday.
· Early mornings, overtime, and occasional Saturdays may be required based on project needs.
· Regular travel between job sites throughout North Carolina and South Carolina is required.
· Overnight travel may be required several times per week depending on project locations and operational needs.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
· Ability to regularly walk and inspect active construction sites.
· Ability to climb ladders and access scaffolding areas.
· Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout uneven or active jobsite conditions.
· Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
· Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
· Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $80,000–$105,000 per year, based on experience.
