Full Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a meticulous and dependable individual to become an integral part of our Machine Shop team. In this role, you will independently set up, adjust, and program machine tools, utilizing G-coding to fabricate products in accordance with engineering specifications. You will contribute to production goals by operating various machine tools to produce precision parts and components while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Program machines of high complexity, independently utilizing Mazatrol, G, and M codes to optimize machining processes.
Set up and operate machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines (CNC Horizontal, CNC Vertical, CNC Turning) to produce precision components.
Select and install appropriate tooling and fixtures, ensuring optimal performance and precision in machining operations.
Employ precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify that parts meet specified tolerances, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Conduct routine maintenance on machine tools to ensure their effective and safe operation, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Maintain detailed records of production activities, including job setups, run times, and material usage, to track efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to optimize machining processes, resolve production challenges, and enhance overall efficiency.
Adhere to all safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.

Qualifications

Required Skills

High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 3 years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in CNC Programming, with a strong understanding of G and M codes.
Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to ensure parts meet specified tolerances.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings accurately.

Preferred Skills

2+ years’ experience in manufacturing or other fast-paced operations.
Experience programming machines with Mazatrol, G, and M codes.
General computer knowledge (i.e., log-on credentials (SSO), JD Edwards, and Microsoft Outlook).
Experience using various hand, pneumatic, and power tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, and presses.
