Full Job Description

Summary

The Operations Supervisor, Cutting and Automated Equipment provides hands-on leadership and day-to-day oversight of the cutting, quilting, and monogramming departments. This role is critical to the overall success of manufacturing because it manages key front-end production areas that directly impact workflow, quality, and the ability of downstream operations to meet business needs.

As a luxury textile manufacturer, Matouk relies on strong execution, craftsmanship, and attention to detail throughout the manufacturing process. This role helps ensure assigned departments operate safely, efficiently, and consistently while supporting the quality standards expected of the Matouk brand.

The role requires strong floor leadership, technical understanding of automated equipment, sound decision-making, and the ability to develop people, strengthen processes, and drive accountability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise the cutting, quilting, and monogramming departments, providing daily direction, coaching, and guidance to ensure work is executed according to production priorities and overall business needs.
Provide leadership to achieve department objectives related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost while promoting a culture of Operational Excellence and a zero-loss mindset.
Maintain a strong production floor presence to engage employees, resolve day-to-day issues, reinforce expectations, and ensure daily goals are met.
Partner with Planning, Operations Leaders, and key internal teams to align priorities, balance workload, respond to changes, and support overall production flow.
Apply technical knowledge of automated cutting, quilting, and embroidery equipment to guide employees, troubleshoot day-to-day operating issues, and ensure machines are used safely and efficiently.
Monitor fabric usage, scrap rates, material consumption, and cut files to maximize fabric yield, reduce waste, and support cost-effective operations.
Optimize machine utilization, equipment readiness, and material flow to improve productivity and operating cost.
Follow and improve existing Standard Work and SOPs across assigned work centers while introducing new standards where needed to ensure quality standards are met and work toward eliminating rework, defects, and waste.
Use Daily Management tools, KPIs, and visual controls to identify performance gaps, drive continuous improvement, and support cost savings initiatives.
Support new product introductions by helping resolve issues as products transition from development into manufacturing.
Oversee employee training, cross-training, and certification processes to improve workforce flexibility, productivity, and overall department performance.
Provide focused oversight of the monogramming department to ensure personalized work is completed with the quality, detail, and consistency expected for Matouk luxury products.

Qualification Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business Administration, Textile Engineering, or a related field required.
Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive manufacturing experience
Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience, including Standard Work, 5S, Daily Management and continuous improvement practices.
Strong technical aptitude with experience guiding employees, supporting machine operation, and troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
Proven ability to lead multiple departments or work centers, coach employees, manage performance, and build accountability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of production planning, workflow management, material flow, labor utilization, quality standards, and on-time execution.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel; experience with ERP systems, Adobe Illustrator
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required.
