Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Customer Account Coordinator who understands the pace, accuracy and attention to detail required in a manufacturing environment.

This is not a call-center or traditional administrative customer service position. You will manage customer accounts from order entry through shipment, working closely with customers, sales, production, purchasing and logistics to make sure orders are accurate and delivered as promised.

Our products are technically specified, so you should be comfortable working with measurements, specifications, tolerances and detailed customer requirements. Prior metals experience is strongly preferred, particularly with flat-rolled metals, coil processing, stamping or metal service centers. However, we will also consider candidates with strong technical customer service or order management experience in automotive, manufacturing or industrial distribution.

We can teach the specifics of our metals products and processing. We need someone who already understands the importance of accuracy, follow-through, customer communication and taking ownership of an order.

What You'll Do

Customer Account & Order Management

Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned customer accounts.
Review customer purchase orders and enter, acknowledge and manage sales orders and change orders.
Verify specifications such as material, gauge/thickness, width, finish, tolerances, quantities and packaging requirements.
Monitor orders from entry through production and shipment.
Provide customers with accurate lead times, order status, shipment information and proactive updates.
Identify potential problems early and work with the appropriate team members to resolve them before they affect the customer.

Manufacturing & Technical Coordination

Work closely with production, purchasing, sales and logistics to coordinate customer requirements and delivery dates.
Review technical specifications and confirm that order requirements are complete and accurate.
Perform basic calculations, including material weights and metric/English conversions.
Support customer RFQs, pricing updates, releases and order changes.
Become knowledgeable in aluminum alloys, tempers, gauges, coil processing, slitting, protective film and other specialty metal requirements.

Documentation & Customer Requirements

Maintain accurate customer, order, pricing and shipment information in our ERP system.
Maintain organized, audit-ready customer and order documentation.
Prepare or coordinate customer documentation such as Certificates of Origin and USMCA documentation.
Support customer-specific requirements including REACH, RoHS and CMRT.
Assist with APQP sales documentation and sales work instructions as required.
Monitor and report customer delivery performance and other account metrics.

What We're Looking For

Required

2+ years of customer service, account management, order management or inside sales experience in manufacturing, metals, automotive or industrial distribution.
Experience working with basic math, detailed product specifications, measurement conversions, tolerances, part requirements or other technical customer information.
Strong attention to detail and demonstrated responsibility for order accuracy.
Experience using an ERP, MRP or similar business system.
Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
Ability to communicate professionally and confidently with customers, production personnel and management.
Ability to manage multiple orders, priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work full-time at our Wixom, Michigan facility.

Strongly Preferred

Experience with a metal service center, metal processor, stamping company or similar operation.
Experience with flat-rolled aluminum, stainless steel or other coil products.
Familiarity with alloys/grades, tempers, gauges/thicknesses, widths and tolerances.
Experience with slitting, coil processing, stamping or related manufacturing processes.
Automotive or other specification-driven manufacturing experience.

About the Company

We are a stable, family-owned specialty metals company specializing primarily in aluminum coil and precision processing. Our capabilities include coil slitting, O-temper annealing, protective film application and other value-added processing for customers in automotive, electrical, stamping, roll-forming and other manufacturing industries.

We operate with a small, experienced team where customer service works directly with sales, purchasing, production and company leadership. This position has meaningful responsibility for both the customer relationship and the successful execution of each order.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
