Tax Manager
Grapevine, Texas | Hybrid
Up to $160,000 base salary plus 20% bonus
CPA or EA required

More than review work

At a certain point in tax, getting better at reviewing returns is not enough.

You want to be involved earlier.

You want to understand what the client is trying to achieve, help shape the planning, and be part of the conversation before the decision has already been made.

This independent CPA firm in Grapevine TX is looking for a Tax Manager who wants exactly that kind of role.

You will still stay close to the technical work, but the opportunity goes further than compliance. The firm wants someone who can become a trusted client contact, contribute to planning and consulting work, and help clients think ahead rather than simply react at filing time.

Advisory work is part of the day to day role here, not something reserved for Partners.

Why this could be a better move

You will get a broader mix of compliance, tax planning, tax strategy and advisory work.

You will be involved in client conversations throughout the year, including discussions around future decisions rather than just completed transactions.

You will work directly with firm leadership, giving you more visibility and easier access to the people making decisions.

You will have the chance to build stronger, longer term client relationships rather than working mainly through files and review notes.

The firm also offers hybrid flexibility, with a practical approach built around trust, delivery, and client needs.

Compensation is up to $160,000 base salary plus a 20% bonus.

What you will be doing

You will manage and review tax work for individuals and privately owned businesses.

You will act as a key point of contact for clients and develop relationships that extend beyond tax season.

You will support proactive tax planning and provide practical advice throughout the year.

You will contribute to consulting projects alongside the leadership team and become involved in broader client strategy.

You will review work completed by junior team members and help them improve both technically and in the way they work with clients.

You will also help identify where clients may benefit from additional support, planning, or advice.

Who they are open to

The firm is willing to consider professionals currently operating at Senior, Supervisor, or Manager level within public accounting.

You will need a strong technical grounding in tax compliance and the confidence to work directly with clients.

Just as importantly, you should be interested in the thinking behind the work.

This could suit someone who keeps hearing about advisory work at their current firm but rarely gets the opportunity to do much of it.

It could also make sense if you are already carrying significant responsibility and want your compensation, client exposure, and visibility within the firm to reflect that.

A CPA or EA is required.
