Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Lathe Operator and become a vital part of our precision machining operations. In this role, you will operate CNC lathes to produce high-quality metal components, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to strict specifications. Your expertise in CNC programming, machine setup, and measurement will drive our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC lathe machines, ensuring proper tool selection, machine calibration, and safety procedures are followed.
Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to produce precise parts.
Program CNC lathes using G-code and M-code commands, including Fanuc controls, to execute complex machining operations.
Perform routine machine maintenance, tool changes, and adjustments to optimize performance and product quality.
Measure finished parts using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify conformance with specifications.
Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process and document results for quality control records.
Troubleshoot machining issues by analyzing tooling wear, machine parameters, and process deviations; implement corrective actions promptly.

Requirements

Proven experience operating CNC lathes or manual lathe machines within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls is preferred.
Ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Proficiency in using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs for quality assurance.
Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining tools, tooling setup, and machine calibration procedures.
Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances required for machining processes.
Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks or general CAD/CAM programming is a plus.
Knowledge of manufacturing principles including lean manufacturing practices and safety standards.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment; strong attention to detail is essential.
