Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. In this vital role, you will oversee clinical operations, supervise nursing staff, and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care across diverse departments. Your leadership will foster a collaborative environment, uphold compliance with healthcare regulations, and promote best practices in patient safety and quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated nurse with supervisory experience to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes and staff development.

Must have prior Nursing Home experience.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily nursing activities, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care across units such as medical-surgical, ICU, pediatrics, or behavioral health.
Lead and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance on clinical procedures, documentation, and professional development.
Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, IV infusion management, catheter care, and other medical procedures following established protocols.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and safety policies to protect patient confidentiality and promote a safe environment.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, case managers, and support staff to develop comprehensive discharge planning and treatment plans.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
Conduct regular audits of medical records, medical documentation, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and utilization review processes to optimize patient care delivery.

Skills

Proven supervisory experience in a healthcare setting with strong leadership capabilities in nurse management.
Extensive knowledge of clinical practices including patient assessment, physiology, anatomy, diagnostic evaluation, and medical terminology.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for documentation and data management.
Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatric patients (neonatal ventilator care), individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
Skilled in critical care procedures such as ventilator management, airway management, spinal tap procedures, catheterization techniques, sterile processing, and infection control protocols.
Ability to perform complex medical procedures including phlebotomy, venipuncture, injection administration (including IV insertion), suturing, gastrostomy tube feeding, and use of Hoyer lifts.
Strong understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and NCQA standards for quality assurance.
Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, team coordination, family coaching on health topics like nutrition or occupational health.
Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, DRG classifications for hospital stays, and utilization management strategies.
Familiarity with hospital environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers; experience in emergency medicine or hospital medicine is highly desirable.
