Veterinary Technician Manager – Emergency Department

Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care Center

Largo, Florida

About You

You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Your Experience & Skills

Veterinary technician licensure preferred
3-4 years of emergency experience required
1-2 years of leadership experience required
An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care Center is a 24-hour emergency and multi-specialty practice located in Largo, Florida. Our hospital has a collaborative working environment focused on quality care for our patients and clients. We pride ourselves on offering gold standard emergency and specialty care. Teamwork and a positive culture are qually important.

We are open 24/7 serving the Greater Tampa Bay Area.

You’re Willing And Able To

Lead a team of emergency technicians
Develop and mentor technicians in emergency medicine skills and patient care
Manage a working schedule to meet the needs of a 24/7 facility
Mange workflow from triage to hospitalization
Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients
Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow in an emergency setting
Assist with and facilitate emergency surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians
Communicate with clients regarding patient care and status
Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems
