Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with experience in both corporate and non-profit environments. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a solid understanding of financial concepts. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Duties

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries
Ensure accurate double entry bookkeeping practices are followed
Prepare financial reports and assist in budget preparation
Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation
Process payroll accurately and timely
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar tools for financial management
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards
Assist with tax preparation and filing as needed
Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits

Requirements

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within corporate or non-profit accounting environments
Proficiency in QuickBooks software is essential
Strong understanding of financial concepts including budgeting, account analysis, and technical accounting principles
Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus
Excellent skills in financial report writing and general ledger reconciliation
Knowledge of debits & credits, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation processes
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently
Proficient typing skills (10-key typing) for data entry tasks
