Position Summary
The Latino Business Development & Engagement Director serves as the Chamber's primary liaison to the Latino business community. This unique position builds relationships, develops programs and partnerships, supports entrepreneurs, and advances economic opportunities throughout Washington County. The Director serves as staff liaison to the Latino Business Advisory Council and leads the Chamber's annual Latino Community Festival and Latino Business Summit.
This is a full-time exempt position.
Salary: $68,000 - $78,000
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development & Community Engagement
- Support small businesses on their journey to navigate local and state requirements and provide recommendations of resources available.
- Serve as the Chamber's primary point of contact and ambassador to the Latino business community.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Latino-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, community organizations, elected officials, and strategic partners.
- Conduct outreach efforts to identify and engage businesses that can benefit from Chamber programs, services, and membership opportunities.
- Provide business resource navigation and connect entrepreneurs with available programs, services, and community resources.
- Represent the Chamber at community events, business gatherings, and stakeholder meetings.
- Promote the Chamber's mission and advocate for the success of Latino-owned businesses throughout Washington County.
- Fulfill contractual agreements for contracts related to this role.
Advisory Council Leadership
- Serve as staff liaison to the Latino Business Advisory Council.
- Coordinate monthly council meetings, agendas, communications, and follow-up activities.
- Support volunteer leadership and facilitate initiatives that advance council goals and priorities.
- Foster meaningful engagement among council members and community stakeholders.
Program and Event Leadership
- Lead the planning, coordination, sponsorship development, and execution of the annual Latino Business Summit.
- Serve as the primary staff lead for the annual Latino Community Festival, overseeing vendor recruitment, sponsorships, community partnerships, volunteer coordination, logistics, marketing collaboration, and event execution.
- Develop and implement networking events, workshops, and educational programs that support Latino business growth and leadership development.
- Identify opportunities for new programs and initiatives that address the evolving needs of the Latino business community.
- Collaborate with Chamber staff to ensure successful delivery of events and programs.
Partnership Development
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with businesses, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and community leaders.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance entrepreneurship, workforce development, and economic opportunity initiatives.
- Seek opportunities to expand resources and support available to Latino-owned businesses.
Communications and Reporting
- Develop culturally relevant outreach and communication strategies in both English and Spanish.
- Maintain regular communication with Latino business stakeholders through email, social media, presentations, and community engagement efforts.
- Maintain accurate records and business contact databases.
- Track program participation, business engagement metrics, and community impact.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for Chamber leadership, committees, and stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with organizational initiatives and special projects as assigned.
- Support Chamber events and programs, including occasional evening and weekend activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Fluent in Spanish and English, including speaking, reading, writing, translation, and public presentations in both languages.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting Latino-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and community development initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and community partners.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other business technology platforms.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally throughout Washington County as needed.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Public Administration, Community Development, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered.
- Experience in business development, economic development, chamber of commerce, nonprofit, community engagement, or related fields.
- Experience planning and executing events, programs, and community initiatives.
- Experience managing budgets, sponsorships, volunteers, or project teams.
- Knowledge of the Washington County business community and regional economic landscape.
Work Schedule
The Chamber offers a flexible work schedule. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position includes a designated Monday flex day, providing additional workplace flexibility while ensuring coverage and support for Chamber operations.
Some evening and weekend attendance is required for events, meetings, networking functions, and community engagement activities.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel locally throughout Washington County.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds for event setup and execution.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during events and community activities.
