Description

Legal Administrative Assistant (Part-Time, Ogden)

$26 to $32 per hour | 12 to 15 hours per week | Two-three fixed blocks, no weekends

Origin Legal is a small business law firm in Ogden serving owner-operated Utah companies with entity formation, contracts, business purchases and sales, trademarks, and business disputes.

This is a focused part-time role for someone who has already done this kind of work. We are hiring for competence rather than availability, and paying accordingly. You should be productive in your first week.

Responsibilities

· Prepare and submit business filings, including Utah Division of Corporations registrations, annual renewals, and EIN applications, and track what is due

· Maintain the firm calendar and client deadlines

· Route contracts and agreements for electronic signature and track them through full execution

· Keep open client matters moving, including status check-ins and scheduling

· Organize time records and matter summaries for attorney review

· Organize and maintain electronic client files

· Handle scanning, certified mailings, and related office administration

Requirements

· Two or more years of administrative or office coordination experience in a professional setting

· Demonstrated ability to track deadlines and many open items at once

· Strong written communication. You will be emailing clients directly

· Comfortable following up with busy people, including the attorney, about what is due

· Excellent attention to detail

· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

· High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

· Prior experience in a law firm, title company, CPA or bookkeeping practice, insurance agency, or medical office

· Familiarity with electronic signature platforms such as DocuSign, Adobe Sign, or SignWell

· Experience with state business filings or registered agent work

· Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online

Please note: This is an administrative support position. It is not a paralegal or attorney role and does not involve giving legal advice. It is also not a reception position and does not include phone coverage. Invoicing is handled by our outside bookkeeper.

Schedule and pay

· Part-time, 12 to 15 hours per week

· Two-three fixed blocks per week, scheduled with you. Daytime hours, no weekends

· $26.00 to $32.00 per hour depending on experience

· remote/virtual

· This is the firm's first administrative hire and the role can grow
