Full Job Description

As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for the development, adjustment, and validation of programs and setup documentation for CNC milling operations. Your contributions are vital to converting engineering concepts into accurate, superior-grade parts by streamlining programming workflows, designing effective fixtures, and refining overall manufacturing processes.

Core Responsibilities

Maintain precise and reliable records of all activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection documentation.
Analyze engineering blueprints and GD&T standards in accordance with ASME Y14.5 requirements.
Utilize CAD/CAM applications to produce solid models, technical drawings, and toolpaths.
Enhance and innovate sophisticated CNC machining and quality control procedures.
Review documentation to confirm prior operations are signed off and verify quantities to ensure a smooth manufacturing start.
Conduct essential equipment safety inspections prior to initiating any production tasks.
Verify that all measurement tools are calibrated, current, and fully functional before use.
Adhere to standardized protocols to support the identification and tracking of products and records.
Consult relevant specifications, blueprints, and process instructions to help ensure production accuracy and consistency.
Adhere to all departmental standard operating procedures.
Deliver agile support to facilitate the production of high-precision components.
Troubleshoot and rectify quality concerns related to machining processes.
Develop, edit, and validate programming for all shop floor machinery.
Engineer and program work-holding solutions for diverse production requirements.
Improve overall efficiency by optimizing cutting tools, fixtures, and program logic to reduce cycle times.
Develop and preserve comprehensive process records for existing product lines.
Investigate, evaluate, and integrate modern cutting tools and programming advancements to boost team productivity.
Verify that all newly implemented CNC programs facilitate efficient product flow throughout the shop.

Required Qualifications

An Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology or an equivalent combination of professional experience.
At least 4 years of hands-on experience utilizing CAD/CAM software, with a preference for Esprit, MasterCAM, or Solidworks.
A minimum of 8 years of experience operating CNC machinery within a production setting, with medical device manufacturing experience considered an asset.
Proficiency in diverse inspection techniques, including CMM and mechanical measurement.
Solid technical aptitude with Microsoft Office, CAD, and CAM software.

Key Proficiencies

Expertise in CNC Programming.
Competency in CNC Machine Setup and Changeover.
Advanced knowledge of inspection and gauge measurement techniques.

Technical Environment

Mastercam CAM software.
5-axis VMC CNC milling machines.
5-axis CNC lathes.
