Full Job Description

JOB TITLE: Accounts Payable Clerk

REPORTS TO: Director, Finance & Administration

SUMMARY: Responsible work involving data entry and decision making regarding proper expense allocation of vendor invoice amounts.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Operates office equipment including personal computer, facsimile, calculator and photocopier.

2. Enters invoices payable into computer and prints payables checks on a regularly scheduled basis.

3. Matches invoices/tickets to vendor statements.

4. Communicates directly with other staff members and vendors to resolve disputes and to verify that invoices received are correct.

5. Records appropriate expense account allocations for invoices received and verified.

6. Maintains master lists of supporting documentation for company owned vehicles, telephone lines/numbers, personnel authorized on grocery store charge accounts, etc.

7. Maintains filing system for both current year payables and previous year(s) payables invoices.

8. Assists other staff when time allows.

9. Responsible for the storage and protection of consumer and employee records.

10. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment.

2. Good communication and logic skills.

3. Ability to make decisions in accordance with prescribed procedures.

4. Ability to follow instructions.

5. Working knowledge of Microsoft WORD and EXCEL.

6. Must demonstrate the ability to work well with staff and clients in a polite, respectful and dignified manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Typing skills with min. 40 wpm.

Two years office experience with some business schooling or accounting preferred.

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
