Full Job Description

West Coast Partitions, Inc. is a leading specialty contractor in Phoenix, AZ and handles everything from drywall assemblies and specialty ceilings to exterior framing and interior painting. WCP has managed and worked on some of the largest construction projects in the Western United States. Our sectors include data centers, manufacturing, federal, education, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and more.

WCP is seeking a Senior Construction Accountant to support the company with multi-entity operations and a high volume of project-related financial and compliance documentation. This role is designed for a hands-on construction accounting professional who can own month-end close responsibilities, job financial accuracy, prequalification packages, and a large volume of owner, general contractor, banking, insurance, audit, and compliance forms while coordinating with staff handling accounts receivable, accounts payable, and purchasing.

Position Overview

The Senior Construction Accountant will serve as a key operational finance resource for West Coast Partitions, supporting leadership with job-cost visibility, close processes, reconciliations, compliance items, and project-facing financial documentation. The position fits a candidate with strong construction accounting experience who is comfortable working across finance, project administration, and compliance without requiring a manager title.

Core Responsibilities

Lead monthly close activities, including reconciliations, review of charges, and financial accuracy across company entities.
Maintain bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and related financial records used for internal reporting and external review.
Review job financials, job costs, percent of complete, inventory, and budget-related information for completeness and accuracy.
Prepare and manage prequalification packages and other high-volume forms required by general contractors, owners, lenders, and third parties.
Maintain compliance requirements, including licensing, tax-related submission and documentation, insurance and workers compensation audits, and certification-related filings.
Coordinate with external tax and audit partners to make tax payments and assist with year-end financial audit support.
Provide monthly budget updates and support financial review meetings with company leadership.
Work closely with accounting and administrative staff responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, and transaction processing.
Help standardize financial and project documentation workflows to improve consistency, speed, and accuracy.
Oversee fleet administration and financial management.

Preferred Background

5+ years of accounting experience, with significant experience in construction or specialty subcontracting environments.
Strong understanding of job-cost accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and project financial reporting.
Experience preparing prequalifications, compliance packages, and documentation for owners, general contractors, or similar construction stakeholders.
Working knowledge of construction-related financial compliance requirements, including insurance, tax, and audit support.
Ability to manage a large volume of forms and deadlines while staying organized and accurate.
Comfortable operating in a hands-on role within a lean accounting and operations team.

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
