Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Pain Management & Oncology

PGY1 Required and PGY2 Preferred
$80-$110/hour
$10,000 BONUS plus $10,000 RELOCATION

Join a nationally recognized nonprofit academic affiliated medical center and become part of an award-winning Pain Management & Oncology Pharmacy team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist looking to expand their expertise in oncology, pain management, or both.

Cross-training is available for pharmacists with experience in either specialty.

You'll work alongside a collaborative team of physicians, nurses, and clinical pharmacists while providing direct patient care in a progressive teaching hospital known for clinical excellence and innovation.

COMPENSATION:

$80-$110/hour ($166,000-$229,000 annually)
$10,000 Sign-On Bonus
$10,000 Relocation Assistance
Up to $20,000 Student Loan Repayment
Cross-train in Pain Management or Oncology
We area an Academic affiliated Medical Center with PGY1 & PGY2 Residency Programs
Permanent Full-Time Position (No Travel or Contract Work)

Clinical Pharmacy Responsibilities

As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, you will:

Completes individualized patient pain assessments and develops pain regimens
Completes individualized assessment and monitoring of patients receiving chemotherapy medications within the acute care setting.
Oversees accurate compounding and dispensing of chemotherapy medication in the acute care setting.
Participates in the formulary process for pain and oncology related medications by preparing drug monographs of requested non-formulary and/or formulary pain medications or performing medication use evaluations (MUEs).
Participates in the development and implementation of policy and procedures, order sets and/or institutional use guidelines.
Participate in interprofessional patient care with hospitalist, palliative/hospice care, oncology and anesthesia physician consultants.
Completes opioid stewardship review on targeted patients receiving pain management therapy to ensure appropriateness and intervenes as necessary.
Teaching/precepting of PGY1 residents and University Medical Center pharmacy students.
Completion of pain/oncology related patient care projects/presentations, and participation on multidisciplinary institutional committees for the pharmacy department and organization.
Documents clinical interventions on an ongoing basis

PHARMACY DEPARTMENT:

Over 50 Clinical Pharmacists
80% Residency-Trained and Board Certified
Integrated decentralized clinical pharmacy practice model
Average daily census of approximately 400 patients
Joint faculty appointments with a major university medical center
Strong commitment to residency training, education, and clinical advancement

QUALIFICATIONS:

PharmD required
PGY1 Residency
PGY2 Residency in Oncology, Pain/Palliative Care, or related specialty preferred
Relevant clinical experience may substitute for PGY2 residency
