Full Job Description

Purpose: The CNC Machinist produces precision machined components by operating CNC milling equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and customer requirements while maintaining product quality, productivity, and safe manufacturing practices.

Job Responsibilities:

· Operate CNC milling machines to manufacture quality products in accordance with approved setup documentation and work instructions.

· Verify machine setup, tooling, and workholding prior to beginning production and notify the Setup Technician or Lead of any discrepancies.

· Monitor machining operations, tool wear, offsets, and machine performance to maintain product quality and production efficiency.

· Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment and accurately document inspection results.

· Make approved tool offset adjustments and replace cutting tools as required to maintain dimensional conformity.

· Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation applicable to assigned work.

· Maintain machine cleanliness and perform routine operator maintenance in accordance with established procedures.

· Work closely with Setup Technicians, Engineering, Quality, and Production to resolve manufacturing issues.

· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while following all company safety and quality requirements.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

· Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.

· Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.

· Working knowledge of CNC machine operation, tooling, cutting parameters, and tool offsets.

· Proficiency using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, and related inspection tools.

· Basic understanding of CNC programming concepts, including G and M codes.

· Familiarity with AS9100 or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

· Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

· High School diploma or equivalent.

Authorities:

· Approve in-process inspections for assigned operations.

· Adjust approved tool offsets to maintain product conformity.

· Stop production and notify supervision when product quality or equipment concerns exist.

· Sign off completed router operations.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to perform detailed visual inspections.

· Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.

· Ability to safely operate machining equipment while wearing required PPE.
