Full Job Description

Meals on Wheels Congregate Site Managers make a difference in the lives of the senior population! Not only do they help to provide them a nutritious meal, they provide one-on-one contact with individuals who may have few other daily social contacts. Our Congregate Site Managers don't see this as a job, but as a mission in helping others!

Neighborhood House is seeking a Congregate Site Manager for the Peoria, IL area. The hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to generally 1:00 p.m. Candidates must be available to work the days and hours as listed.

The Site Manager will ensure all food and milk are kept properly temped after arrival, complete all program paperwork daily, coordinate with the MOW Director or Assistant as necessary, and maintain a pleasant atmosphere. The Site Manager is expected to maintain client, employee, and program confidentiality, and have the ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse staff and community. They will also be responsible for delivering Home Delivered Meals within the complex.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent
Two years of driving experience, preferably on professional basis
Food Sanitation License
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse staff and community
Ability to maintain client, employee, and program confidentiality
Pass a criminal background check and have a clean driving record
Own & maintain an operational, licensed, and insured vehicle with minimum of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury and $100,000 property coverage
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

POSITION ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Maintain a pleasant atmosphere which helps participants feel comfortable and welcome
Ensure that food and milk are properly temped at time of arrival and just prior to serving
Train volunteers in proper food handling and clean-up
Manage participant contribution box and forward to Finance Department on daily basis
Complete all program paperwork daily (volunteer hours, meals served, food temp, etc.)
Coordinate informational programs which follow Department of Aging guidelines
Deliver meals when necessary
Assure cleanliness of food service area and equipment used for program needs

POSITION ANCILLARY DUTIES:

Notify MOW Director or Assistant of any needs and/or changes as each occurs
Respond to all requests for program information and assistance in a timely manner
Perform other duties as assigned
