Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality within our US-based production facilities, driving continuous improvement in our domestic and international quality processes and control.

This role will also provide oversight and strategic direction for quality assurance activities in our manufacturing facilities in Audubon, PA and abroad, ensuring alignment with US quality standards and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be a proactive team member, capable of managing complex quality systems, driving root cause analysis, and fostering a culture of quality excellence across our global production network.

Essential Duties

US Quality Oversight:
Own and maintain UPC codes. product specifications, quality standards, and version control for all Cleanlogic products.
Work closely with the product development team and others on new and/or changed Cleanlogic products to ensure product specifications and quality requirements are clearly defined.
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) to US-based production, adhering to relevant US standards (e.g., ISO 9001, MOCRA regulations, etc., as applicable).
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve product quality and process efficiency within US facilities.
Conduct internal audits and review external audits to ensure compliance with current and emerging quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Utilize processes such as DMAIC to lead root cause analysis and execute corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), ensuring sustainable solution of quality issues in U.S. production.
Develop and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and inspection records.
Train and mentor US production staff on quality procedures and best practices.
International Quality Oversight:
Oversee and analyze quality reports from our manufacturing facilities in China and other potential locations which produce Cleanlogic products, identifying trends and potential quality issues.
Establish and maintain clear communication channels with quality teams in China and other potential locations which produce Cleanlogic products to ensure alignment with US quality standards.
Conduct periodic reviews of international quality control processes and recommend improvements.
Work with international suppliers and manufacturers to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
Ensure that international production processes meet US regulatory and customer requirements.
Review and approve Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) from international vendors.
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare and present regular quality reports to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics and quality improvement initiatives.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records and documentation.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive standardization of quality procedures across all manufacturing locations, ensuring consistent product quality and customer satisfaction.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance quality processes and reduce defects.
Implement and utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to monitor and improve process capability.
Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging quality standards.

Qualifications & skills

BS degree preferred preferrable in Quality, Engineering, Operations Management or Business or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance management, preferably with consumer goods in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of US quality standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA, etc.).
Experience managing international quality control and working with overseas suppliers and manufacturers (Asia and Central America experience preferred).
Lean/Six Sigma preferred.
Proven ability to develop and implement QMS and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using quality tools and software (e.g., SPC, root cause analysis tools).
Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
Ability to travel internationally as needed.

Physical & Mental/Cognitive Requirements: (with or without the aid of reasonable accommodation and medical devices)

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. This role is in an office setting.
Occasionally moves boxes weighing up to 20 pounds across office for various needs.
The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
