Full Job Description

DG Fenn Construction, a midsize commercial General Contractor has an immediate need for an experienced Superintendent. We have a solid client base in Arizona and surrounding states and offer an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.

Role:

Provide leadership and to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships of the on-site staff and to promote a positive project morale.
Bring about optimum utilization of resources- labor, materials and equipment, and ensuring their procurement at most cost-effective terms.
Development of effective communications and mechanisms for resolving conflicts among the various participants.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the construction project from start to finish in a fast paced environment.
Thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of each Subcontract, the contract drawings, specifications and addenda.
To examine the contract drawings, specifications and addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details and possible code violations and to bring these to the attention of the Project Manager.
To work with the Project Manager in the development and refinement of the Project Schedule. Work with Project Manager to keep the schedules properly updated, and to insure project meets the various required dates.
Ensure construction activities move according to predetermined schedule.
Devise the project work plans and make revisions as and when need arises.
Communicate effectively with the subcontractors.
To plan and review the Construction Program with the Project Manager including quality control procedures, safety and security practices, field office location and layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment and manpower.
To insure all required permits or licenses have been obtained.
Maintain strict adherence to the quality and safety standards.
To cooperate with, and direct when necessary, the activities of the inspection agencies, and to effect remedial actions indicated by the reports of these agencies.

Desired Skills and Experience

Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial construction.
Excellent communication skills.
30 hour OSHA Training
First Aid/CPR certification
Strong ability to read drawings and specifications.
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Thorough knowledge of safety standards is essential.
Computer proficiency, including use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Project.
Strong decision making/problem solving skills
