Full Job Description

POSITION: MD Plastic Surgery

REPORTS TO: Practice Manager

WHO YOU ARE:

You are an experienced Registered Nurse with excellent experience in the plastic surgery or aesthetic field. You relate to patients with care and empathy, balancing efficiency with clinical excellence. You have a desire to learn new skills and to keep up with the latest trends in our industry.

YOUR ROLE AT MD PLASTIC SURGERY MDPS:

You will assist the physician with patient care including obtaining history and chief complaint and assisting with any in-office procedures such as suture removal, dressing changes, and drain removal. You will conduct pre-operative appointments and will provide patient education on treatment plans and medication. You will accurately complete pathology and lab requisition documents. When needed, you will be responsible for seeing patients for follow-up appointments.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Thoughtfully triage patient calls, balancing efficiency and empathy
Prepare all preoperative materials, following all health and safety protocols
Conduct preoperative appointments, balancing efficiency with patience and empathy
Obtain any clearance material needed
Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration with the surgery center to ensure all preoperative materials are ready for day of surgery
Accurately call in patients’ needed medication
Implement and evaluate best-in-class patient care including safe and competent nursing care, education of patients and family members/caregivers, and ensuring that patients understand their treatment plans
Ensure completion of accurate and thorough charting and patient documentation, including uploading documentation sent via email to the patient’s chart and charting all patient communication
Proactively review physician’s schedules and anticipate daily needs
Set up exam rooms to scheduled procedures, following all health and safety protocols
Escort patients to exam rooms in order of appointment times
Obtain or confirm medical history at every visit with thoughtfulness and accuracy
Perform suture removal, drain removal, tissue expansions, and in-office procedures
Maintain superior standards of hygiene and cleanliness, including thoroughly cleaning exam rooms before and after patient visits, stocking all exam rooms, and performing all duties related to medical instrument cleaning and sterilization
Ensure that daily dictations are completed accurately and signed off by the end of the day
Perform other duties and tasks as needed

YOUR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

MA
ACLS certification
CPR certification
Continuous work in the medical field, 1+ years of experience as a MA
Experience in the plastic surgery/ aesthetic field preferred

HOW YOU’LL BE REWARDED:

Paid Vacation & Time Off

Eligible full-time employees are granted paid vacation based upon the length of continuous active service to the Company, starting at 10 days/80 hours in Year 1.

Employees accrue one hour of paid sick time for every 30 hours worked.

In addition, employees are granted 5 days of paid time off per year for illness, personal business, inability to travel to work due to inclement weather, or any other use.

You are eligible to take PTO following three (3) months (90 days) of employment.

Holidays

The Company observes six paid holidays per year.

Health Insurance

Regular full-time and part-time employees are eligible for health insurance after 60 days of employment, with a portion of the premium paid by the Company for the employee only.

401(k)
Regular full-time and part-time employees that work at least 1,000 hours within a 12-month period are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan after the first year of employment
