Full Job Description

Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Branch Teller/Universal Banker, where you will be the friendly face of our financial institution, delivering exceptional customer service while efficiently managing daily banking transactions. The Teller is the front line of the bank and is responsible for maintaining exceptional customer service. Additionally, this position is also responsible for the opening of New Accounts, which includes personal and business accounts, CD's, IRA's, Safe Deposit Boxes, and any other product or service the bank may offer. As a key contributor, you will handle cash transactions, assist with loan processing, and provide expert guidance on a variety of banking services, all while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

Teller Duties

Process a wide range of customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and cash handling with accuracy and efficiency.
Assist customers in opening new accounts, applying for loans, and understanding banking products to meet their financial needs.
Manage cash drawers securely, perform cash management duties, and ensure all transactions comply with banking regulations and internal policies.
Detect and prevent fraud by monitoring account activity, following security protocols, and reporting suspicious behavior promptly.
Utilize banking software and Microsoft Office tools to maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and support daily operations.
Deliver outstanding customer service by actively listening to client needs, providing solutions, and building long-term relationships through relationship management skills.
Opens accounts by preparing the appropriate documents, following bank procedures and regulatory compliance requirements.
Responsible for data entry into banks core system.
Performs account maintenance, as needed.
Checks closed account listing, pulls signature cards, stamps as closed and files in designated closed signature card file.
Scans all new signature cards and other account documentation into required folders.
Assists in any other activity needed to meet customer needs efficiently, and bank procedures and regulatory guidelines are met.
Qualifications
Proven experience in retail banking or financial services with a strong understanding of banking products and services.
Excellent customer relationship management skills with a focus on delivering positive experiences.
Proficiency in processing cash transactions accurately using cash handling procedures and basic math skills.
Knowledge of financial compliance standards, industry regulations, fraud prevention techniques, and banking software systems.
Ability to perform retail math calculations such as debits & credits efficiently (including 10 key typing).
Strong communication skills to clearly explain banking options and foster trust with clients.
Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel for recordkeeping and reporting purposes.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while adhering to banking regulatory compliance standards.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
