Berkshire Community College is seeking to hire an organized, collaborative clerk to support the One Stop Enrollment Center and its offices, which include Admissions, Academic Advising and Coaching, Student Financial Services and the Office of the Registrar. Serving as the primary point of contact at the front welcome desk, this position warmly greets students, families, and visitors, provides excellent customer service, and assists individuals in navigating the College's enrollment and student support processes. The Clerk works closely with students and their families, guiding them through various enrollment procedures and connecting them with the appropriate campus resources and offices.

Essential Functions:
Serve as the first point of contact for students, families, and visitors by providing information and assistance in person, by telephone, email, and virtual platforms.
Respond to routine inquiries regarding enrollment-related services, procedures, forms, and deadlines, referring complex issues to appropriate staff.
Assist students and families with admissions applications and self-service systems by providing guidance on established procedures.
Access, update, and maintain records; enter data and route inquiries to appropriate offices.
Perform clerical duties including data entry, record maintenance, scheduling appointments, filing, and document processing.
Process routine transactions such as registration entry, transcript requests, degree audit retrieval, and related enrollment services.
Monitor incoming telephone calls and shared email accounts and respond to or forward inquiries as appropriate.
Support student check-in/check-out processes and provide front-line customer service.
Review documents and records for completeness and accuracy in accordance with established procedures.
Maintain familiarity with enrollment-related policies and procedures in order to provide accurate information.
Comply with FERPA regulations and communicate them as needed.
Attend training and meetings and maintain meeting notes as assigned.
Provide clerical and customer service support for enrollment-related events and activities

Job Requirements:
Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in office work, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

A diploma as evidence of graduation from the commercial or business course of a recognized high school or vocational/technical high school may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*
A diploma as evidence of graduation from a course other than the commercial or business course of a recognized high school or vocational/technical high school or possession of a Massachusetts high school equivalency certificate may be substituted for a maximum of eight months of the required experience.*
A diploma for completion of a one-year, full-time, or equivalent part-time, program in a recognized, non-degree granting business or secretarial school above the high school level may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*
A diploma for completion of a two-year, full-time, or equivalent part-time, program in a recognized, non-degree granting business or secretarial school above the high school level may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required experience.*

Education toward such a degree or diploma will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually

completed.

NOTE: Educational substitutions will only be permitted for a maximum of two years of the required experience.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Knowledge of office management principles, practices, and the use of general office equipment.
Knowledge of report writing methods and the preparation of charts, graphs, and tables.
Ability to interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures governing assigned activities.
Ability to analyze data, draw sound conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to give and follow written and oral instructions, write concisely, and present information clearly.
Ability to gather, organize, and maintain accurate information and records, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, detail-oriented environment.
