Accounting Support Specialist

Why This Role Matters

The Accounting Support Specialist provides accounting and administrative support that helps the Accounting & Tax Services team operate efficiently and effectively.

This role assists multiple clients and team members by performing routine accounting, bookkeeping, data entry, and document management functions. By supporting essential accounting processes, this position allows Accounting Assistants and Advisors to focus on higher-level client service and advisory work.

This is an entry-level opportunity for individuals interested in building a career in accounting and professional services.

Success in This Role

Accounting & Data Processing

· Enter and process financial transactions accurately and efficiently.

· Assist with accounts payable/receivable, and bank transaction processing.

· Support reconciliations and account maintenance activities.

· Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.

Team Support

· Provide support to Accounting Assistants, Senior Accounting Assistants, and Accounting & Tax Advisors.

· Assist with routine accounting tasks across multiple client accounts.

· Support workflow management and departmental projects.

· Help manage workload demands during peak periods.

Client Information Support

· Assist with gathering and organizing client information.

· Maintain accurate records and documentation.

· Support timely completion of client deliverables.

· Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Learning & Development

· Develop accounting knowledge and technical skills.

· Learn accounting software and organizational processes.

· Embrace coaching and professional development opportunities.

· Prepare for advancement into an Accounting Assistant role.

Qualifications

Required

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

· Effective communication and teamwork skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams).

Preferred

· Associate degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.

· Previous office, bookkeeping, data entry, record management, customer service, or accounting support experience.

· Basic understanding of accounting principles and accounting software.

· Experience with accounting software or document management systems.
